Three Things Thursday

1. Ever since I got my iPhone, I’ve become obsessed with Pinterest. I’ve started pinning recipes I’d like to try. And then, last week, Becca introduced me to Foodgawker and I found even more recipes to try. As a result, this past week I’ve made dinner 3 times (which is funny since I really don’t like cooking ha!) and I thought I’d share with you what I made. Lasagna Soup, Baked Cheesy Chicken Penne, and Mexican Lasagna. All of them were pretty good but I especially loved the Lasagna Soup, I can’t wait to have it again.

2. I just got back not too long ago from spin class. I LOVED the instructor. She was really tough and was even yelling at us at some points but that means I got a really good workout in. Legs and even arms felt like jello when I left, I’ll definitely be feeling it tomorrow. I also can’t wait to take her class again next week.

3. In case you were wondering, I’ll be in Disney in 24 days. I can’t wait! If you are going to be down there for the Disney Princess Half Marathon, let me know. I’d love to meet as many of you as I can. :)

Days 4, 5, and 6!

I’ve had a couple of busy past couple of days and haven’t had the chance to blog until now! While I did get out and #justmove over the weekend I wasn’t quite as successful the last couple of days. On Monday and Tuesday, I had a lot of work to get done and ended up writing 4 papers for school in matter of a little over 24 hours. While I didn’t get all my workouts in, I did get my homework done but thats ok because that is the whole point of this social networking break! Get that homework done! I still have plenty to do but I’m glad to have those papers behind me :)  Today was another busy day with work, school, and car drama. Long story but my car is now in the shop and hopefully won’t take too long and too much money to fix. Since my car is in the shop and its still raining no workout for me tonight either. Oh well it is what it is. I’ll get plenty of workout time in this weekend with a 5K and half marathon. HA!

If you can’t come but still want to meet, let me know and we’ll try to figure something out. I’m already starting to get everything together for the weekend and I can’t wait to head down to Champaign. Now I’m just praying for good weather!

Illinois Marathon Blogger Meet Up

I’ve had a few bloggers/tweeters approach me and ask if I’d be hosting a blogger meet up at the Illinois Marathon. Initially I wasn’t planning on it since its a smaller race but now that I know people that will be doing it and are interested in meeting, I figured why not?! The group I’m doing the race with (Jenn, Becca, Aaron, and myself) are all doing the I-Challenge so I’ve decided to have the dinner Friday night after the 5K. I know it will be a little bit on the late side but I’d prefer to have my meal after I race and I thought others might feel the same. So here are the details: 


When: Friday, April 29th at 8 pm
Where: Flat Top Grill 607 S. Sixth Street Champaign, IL 61820 Phone: 217-344-3200


If you haven’t been to Flat Top before, trust me its delicious! :) It is located about 1.5-2 miles from the 5K finish line so it shouldn’t be too hard to find. If you plan to attend, please leave a comment letting me know. I’m going to call a few days beforehand to make a reservation so we don’t have to waste anytime waiting for a table and still get to bed at a decent hour. 


If for some reason you can’t attend but would still like to meet up, let me know and we’ll figure something out. Maybe a quick picture before race start on Saturday morning? I’ll also be there until Sunday so something after the race might even work as well.

Disney Princess Half Marathon Blogger/Twitter Meet Up

Come join me and other bloggers/tweeters for a meet and greet in Disney before we all run the Disney Princess Half. I’ll be hosting this event in my villa at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. The meet up will be on Friday, February 25th from 6 to 8 pm. I’ll have food and drink for everyone to share, I just ask that everyone chip in $5 to cover the cost of everything. If there is any money left over, it will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society since I’m running this race with Team in Training. I’ll also have a few door prizes to giveaway just for the fun of it!! :)

I know the race is still a while away but I’m a planner and I know many of you might be as well so I thought it might be good to announce the meet now. I’m having the meet at my villa because I figured it would be easier and cheaper for everyone! To RSVP, just leave a comment on this post letting me know you’ll be there. You’ll also need to send me an email at wannaberunnergirl@gmail.com with your cell phone number and/or e-mail address so I can let you know what my room number is once I have it after check-in. I’ll be sending everyone a mass text message/e-mail with my room number and how to get to the resort after I check in on Friday morning.

Mark your calendars! I hope to see you there. :) Oh and don’t worry, I’ll remind you again about the meet closer to race time.
